FR-4 is a composite material composed of woven fiberglass cloth with an epoxy resin binder

FR-4 has good mechanical strength and electrical insulation properties. It is most commonly used as an electrical insulator possessing considerable mechanical strength in electronic, electricity applications. FR-4 has also very good flame resistance caracteristics (self-extinguishing).
